Brain, Mind and Body in the Healing of Trauma
Dear ASWUU Family and Friends.
Please join us this Sunday. There will be coffee hour after the service. Please bring a snack to share. The service will be available on Facebook Live for those who prefer not to gather in person. Go to the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link. The service will begin at 11am.
Today we will explore concepts from the book, The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel Van Der Kolk, M.D. We’ll discuss how traumatic memories are different from other memories, how traumatic memories affect us, and some ways to integrate those memories for healing. We’ll also look at how the brain is structured so that we can better understand why new approaches are needed.
