The theme for this week’s service is “Ordinary and Extraordinary: The Sacred Weight of Being Human.” Drawing on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, our speaker will lead us in considering the question: What do the words “inherent worth and dignity” really mean in our first UU principle?

Rev. Shay Vetter is an author and advocate for equality and integrity. After years of evangelical missionary and seminary work, Shay witnessed firsthand how systems of faith can both inspire and harm. Their journey of deconstruction led them to a UU fellowship, where they found belonging and purpose. Shay is also the award-winning author of the Eclipse Arts series and a visible presence in Myrtle Beach’s protest and civic action circles.

The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be available on Facebook Live. To participate remotely, visit the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link.

Our coffee and fellowship hour will take place immediately following this week’s service. You are welcome to bring a dish to share.
