Our ASWUU summer series this year is titled “The Spirituality of Ordinary Things.” The topics for each week have a common thread: slowing down, noticing, reconnecting, finding meaning in ordinary experience, and building community. This week, led by our resident biologist Joe Pinson, the topic is "The Church of the Great Outdoors (No Membership Required)." This session invites participants to experience nature not merely as scenery but as relationship. The discussion leader and participants alike may connect ecological awareness with UU theology, grief for the planet, awe, embodiment, and stewardship.
