Dear ASWUU Family and Friends,

Our country is experiencing what Timothy Synder terms tyranny. Many (all?) of us are finding the experience scary and frightening. What does our UU value of Transformation have to say to us as we strive to resist tyranny and enact a radical transformation of ourselves and our country? Rev. Dr. Jean Heriot will share some thoughts about the power of personal and societal transformation through the lens of our SC UU Justice Alliance (SCUUJA).

Rev. Dr. Jean Heriot (she/her) is a UU community minister and member of Aiken UU Church. She co-founded the SC UU Justice Alliance (SCUUA) with the Rev. Dr. Pippin Whitaker in 2021. She currently serves as the Director of Organizing and Training for SCUUJA. Prior to moving to SC in 2020, Heriot taught religion and anthropology at Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA and at Hastings College, Hastings, NB. She grew up in SC and has extended family throughout the state.

There will be  Coffee Hour after the service. If you would like to do so, please bring a snack to share.  The service will be available on Facebook Live for those who prefer not to gather in person. Go to the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link.

Spread the word & bring a friend! Do you have a friend, family member, or colleagues who might appreciate this Sunday’s topic?
