Anti-Racism: We Have More Work to Do

Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Sixty years after the passing of the Civil Rights Act, people of color have made great strides in the world of entertainment and politics. So, why are we still seeing news stories of hatred against people of color? We will examine how far we've come, but we will also discuss what more needs to be done to break down the wall of hatred for future generations.

Matt Harlow has been a Unitarian Universalist member for 20 years. He has recently served as President of the ASWUU BOT from 2019-2024. Matt and his wife, Carli, moved to Conway from Connecticut over 7 years ago and live with their herd of 4 spoiled cats. His hobbies include stage combat swordfighting, Renaissance reenacting, building Lego kits, and portraying Santa Claus. Matt's right of center world view and his humor give his reflections a different perspective than mainstream UU philosophy.

The service will begin at 11:00 am. The service will be available on Facebook Live for those who wish to participate remotely. Go to the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link.

We will have a social hour after the service where the coffee, snacks and conversation are always rich. You may bring a dish to share if you would like to do so.
