Mothering isn't limited to those who gave birth — it's found in teachers, mentors, aunties, chosen family, and community caregivers. This morning we will honor nurturing as a universal calling.

We welcome several new members who will "sign the book," which is the traditional UU ritual for joining a congregation -- and we'll examine what signing the book means, which can be both comforting -- and challenging.

This Memorial Day, we will examine the tension between Memorial Day and our UU principles. Perhaps the apparent conflict isn't all it's cracked up to be?

This service was inspired by a post from the singer/songwriter Carrie Newcomer, titled "What I Knew but Didn't Know at the Time."

Rev. Dr. Rob Fulwood will lead us in the seasonal UU ritual of Flower Communion, followed by sharing the story of his faith journey with us.

We will consider our relationships with our fathers and what we learned from them -- about both how we should be in this world, and in some cases how we should not be.

In contrast to the traditional Unitarian and Universalist prejudice against emotions, we will consider the important role emotions play in decision making -- both good and bad!
