This week: Fostering listerracy in South Carolina.
Dr. Dodi Hodges is an author, educator, and speaker. She is the founding member and Executive Director of the Palmetto Literacy Council, a non-profit volunteer organization, which opened its doors in August of 2019. PLC provides free tutoring for children and adults who struggle with basic reading, writing and/or Math.
In addition to serving as a tenured professor at CCU and director of the Faculty Development Program, Dr. Hodges has presented at more than 50 national and international conferences. As a long time resident of the Grand Strand Dr: Hodges will describe the life changing effect of literacy enhancement for residents of the community.
The service will begin at 11:00 am. The service will be available on Facebook Live for those who wish to participate remotely. Go to the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link. You may bring a snack to share if you would like to do so.
