Welcoming the Unexpected

Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Change is hard, even if it is positive change. But what about change that results from difficult and unexpected events? We experience unexpected and unwelcome events constantly in our lives. We can’t change the fact that this will happen, over and over again. But what we can do is change how we react to it, and use the tools out there to cope with how we pick up the pieces again. This year Palm Sunday and Earth Day fall close to each other on the calendar, offering an opportunity to blend the two observances. Today we will discuss how spiritual teachings connect with environmental stewardship and how justice for the Earth aligns with justice for all people.

Carli Harlow is a long-time Unitarian Universalist. She is president of the board of trustees of ASWUU and served as Worship Weaver for our congregation for seven years. She lives in Conway, SC with her husband, Matt. We welcome her back to the pulpit this week.

The service will begin at 11:00 am. The service will be available on Facebook Live for those who wish to participate remotely. Go to the ASWUU Facebook page and click the Live link.

We will have coffee and conversation after the service.  You may bring a snack to share if you would like to do so.
