The Cost of Lasting Commitment

Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Motivated by critics who said Unitarian theology lacked depth and weight, James Luther Adams made it his life's work to articulate just such a theology – a previously existing one that had never been clearly articulated. Adams went on to write many of the phrases we find in our Principles and Values today. This morning, we will explore the his UU theology of action, asking what are our primary purpose and outside issues, how we can foster unity in diversity, and "religious liberalism" actually means. The answer to the last question may surprise you!

Speaker: Bob Clegg, M.Div.
