We welcome Rabbi Weissman back to our pulpit where he will discuss the thought-provoking topic, "Is the Bible the Work of God, the Work of Humans, or the Work of Humans Inspired by God?"
Rabbi David Weissman has served as the spiritual leader of Temple Shalom of Myrtle Beach since 2008, with a temporary retirement hiatus from July 2019 to June 2022. Rabbi David previously served for thirteen years as spiritual leader of the Jewish Center of the Moriches in New York and for seven years as spiritual leader of the Village Reform Congregation in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Prior to his ordination as a rabbi, he served as a cantor at various synagogues in the New Tork Metropolitan area. Rabbi David also worked for the New York City School System for 31 years, initially as a high school social studies teacher and for the last eighteen years as a high school assistant principal. He received his ordination from The Rabbinical Academy of Mesifta Adath Wolkowisk, a Cantor's Certificate from the Manhattan School for Cantors, an M.A. in Social Science Education from Hunter College and a B.B.A. In Economics from Baruch College. Rabbi David and his wife, Mary, live in Myrtle Beach.
